How Children Understand “THINGS AROUND ME”?

By ages 4 to 6, children begin looking at their surroundings with new eyes. Their world expands beyond familiar faces—they notice details, meanings, emotions and relationships.

• They know what things are used for—spoons, books, bags, shoes—and understand how these objects help them in daily routines. This builds independence and practical knowledge.
• Children start recognizing different foods, flavors, and textures. They ask where food comes from and show interest in making choices. This stage lays the foundation for healthy eating habits.
• Then Toys become tools for imagination and learning. They understand how toys & games work, assign them roles, and use them to express stories, feelings, and problem-solving skills.
• Curiosity at its peak, from pets to birds to insects, children become curious about living beings. They start asking “why” and “how,” developing empathy, care, and respect for other creatures.
• They begin to understand size, shape, function, and purpose. This helps them organize their surroundings and interpret the world logically and emotionally.
